The Worship Ministry at HBC exists to create the best possible environment for people to have a life-altering encounter with God and also to train and equip artists to create that environment. We strive to passionately know God through the arts and to communicate the saving message of the Gospel as creatively as possible. God is moving in the lives of His people at Hephzibah as we seek Him and respond to Him in worship. There is a place for you, so come and get involved.
Hephzibah Worship Choir
Our choir leads in both Sunday morning worship services, providing both worship leadership and special music. The Worship Choir is open to anyone 16 and older. Rehearsals are on Sunday evenings at 5:50 p.m. in the FLC Fellowship Hall.
Hephzibah Vocal Team
The HBC Vocal Team is a selected group of vocalists that are committed to spending extra time outside of the normal Hephzibah Worship Choir rehearsal time to prepare for weekend services. This group of singers must go through an evaluation process that includes an audition.
Hephzibah Praise Band
The Hephzibah Praise Band is an exciting aspect of the Worship and Arts Ministry for those who play guitar, bass, drums, percussion or piano. Musicians in the Praise Band go through an evaluation process that includes an audition. The Praise Band meets each Sunday afternoon at 4:45 p.m. in the Family Life Center.
Hephzibah Auxiliary Musicians
Members of “The Auxiliary” are an extension of the Praise Band, adding color and depth to our music. These musicians lead our congregation on a rotating schedule throughout the year. If you play the trumpet, saxophone, violin, flute, clarinet or another orchestral instrument, please join us and use your musical talents to honor and serve Jesus Christ. Rehearsal schedules vary according to need.
Children’s Choir & Wee Singers
It is important that our children learn to sing and praise God, and on Sundays at 4:45 p.m. this opportunity is made possible. Wee Singers is made up of Preschoolers ages 4 & 5 while the Children’s Choir includes children in Kindergarten - 5th Grade. Biblical and musical concepts are taught each week as well as preparations made to share and lead in worship.
Hephzibah Technical Arts
The Hephzibah Technical Arts team uses unique audio and visual support to enhance our weekend worship services and other special events throughout the year. Each week, many men and women volunteer their time to serve as part of this valuable team.

Christmas in Wendell
Each December, the combined Worship and Arts ministry presents a celebration of Christmas as an outreach event. This event uses music, drama, dance and technology to celebrate the joy of the birth of Jesus. The event also calls on members of the HBC body to work together in areas of hospitality, promotions, costuming, set-design and follow-up.
For more information on any of these ministry opportunities with the Worship and Arts Ministry, please contact Kevin Bragg, Worship Pastor at (firstname.lastname@example.org) or 919-365-7847, ext. 103.
